I must clarify a matter raised in the rebuttal to my letter published in the NZMJ.1
The authors refer to a paper published under my name in the Sri Lankan Journal of Anaesthesiology.2 This paper was published without my knowledge. I was not involved in any part of its research, data collection, writing or publication, and I have made no claims for its authorship, such as inclusion in my CV. I became aware of it, quite by accident, some time in 2013. I accept that the authors of the rebuttal could not have known this.
